Linda Wilson
Program Support Coordinator
Getting to work with members and learn what makes up South Dakota’s unique way of life are two highlights for Linda in her job as DRA’s Program Support Coordinator and as a recent arrival to South Dakota.
Linda began her love of land and a determination to take care of it from starting life on a farm in southern Ohio where farms went under and suburbs went up. She attended college in Ohio and New Mexico before finishing her undergraduate studies at Johnson State College in Vermont, focusing on natural sciences. She has worked as a professional organic landscape gardener, organic farm worker, forest resource and natural areas practitioner, and in coordinating outreach and membership development for a regional land trust in Vermont and New Hampshire.
She came to DRA because of its emphasis on empowering its members to create the underlying means for a truly healthy economy by ensuring the vitality of the land and its people. She believes we can realize our own capacity to act together to safeguard the health of the land and local economies for succeeding generations.
Away from work, Linda enjoys growing food, cooking, camping, reading, solitude, painting (landscapes mostly), and in finding ways to spend time with her grown daughters and little granddaughter. She lives in Gary, South Dakota.
