Register by July 19 to reserve a free lunch. Walk-ins are welcome at the event, but need to pay $15 to join in the lunch. Driving directions are included on the registration page.
The 2013 MOSES Organic Farmer of the Year and DRA member, Charlie Johnson, and his family will show us their third-generation successful organic farm. The farm currently includes 2,800 acres of corn, soybeans, oats and alfalfa. We’ll see how the farm’s simple, yet elegant, crop rotation along with timely cultivation produces clean fields and good yields. Environmental stewardship and good animal husbandry also are hallmarks of this exceptional operation.
A tour bus will take us around the farm. Lunch will be provided by the neighboring Lutheran Church at noon.
